16 Days: Safe Europe ii - Day 7

2 December 2012

"Stop the Violence: speak out for girls' rights" Action Plan Seminar - Antwerp, Belgium 29 November - 4 December

The Blue Patrol - UK, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark and France

We arrived at the seminar and were welcomed by the planning team. We then participated in various icebreakers to help us get to know the other delegates, where we were given a small piece of paper that asked us to find someone who had a certain skill, for example who can do a magic trick, braid hair etc

After this we heard a presentation on the World Association of Girl Guide & Girl Scouts, it was great to learn more about WAGGGS & how it fits in with the Council of Europe.

We moved onto another team building excerise that focussed on statements about violence against women and girls in our countries – we then had to move to various points in the room that represented “True, False, don't know” depending on the countries that the delegation was from or their views on the different issues which were raised.

The planning team divided us into patrols and then we were given tasks to complete each day, including blogging, videos, energizers and room setup.

The first day ended with a Quiz that we completed in our groups – it was a brilliant first day but we were all definitely ready for bed after a long day of travelling, well that is except from our blue team member from the Netherlands!
