About the campaign
2012 is the third and final year of our three-year centenary celebrations. Here is why it’s important to share Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting around the world, and why we want people at all levels of society to imagine more.
More than a club, more than friends, more than a volunteer
Each centenary celebration year has had a different theme. In 2010, the theme was “Plant” and in 2011 it was “Grow”. Now in 2012, with the theme of “Share”, we encourage you to share the Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting story and help grow the Movement and share your voice to help stop violence against girls and young women.

So on the 10 April and throughout the year, why not share the story and help grow the Movement?To help you share the story of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting, WAGGGS has developed a marketing campaign called Imagine More.
Share your voice
Sharing your Girl Guiding or Girl Scouting story with the wider community is just one way you can take part in the centenary this year, Sharing your voice to end violence against girls is another.
Throughout our history, WAGGGS and its members have been advocating for greater recognition of girls’ rights and empowering girls through non-formal education to claim those rights. Let us continue this tradition as part of our centenary celebrations – go to the Stop the Violence page and add your voice.
The future
‘In the next 100 years, I want our Movement to continue to grow stronger by enabling girls and young women to progress to their fullest potential and, hopefully, see an end to poverty and violence among our sisters around the world,’ says Louise Browne, Centenary Ambassador, Catholic Guides of Ireland.
By sharing our story and our voices we can help people understand the positive impact that Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting has on so many lives around the world.
We want to increase people’s understanding of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting so we can increase the Movement’s membership, funding, and influence. In short, so we can change more lives. The centenary celebration years are the opportunity to help make sure this happens.
