Kenya - buying and building facilities for girls and young women.
The Kenya Girl Guides were seeking funding to train leaders to organize camping activities, provide training on HIV/AIDS, peer education, female health, alternative training to prepare girls and guides in the community to have a better guide to adulthood. The project is aiming for the eradication of youth pregnancies and HIV/AIDS among young women. There will be forum for girl guiding activities at a district, national and international level.
Planned Activities: We wish train leaders to organize camping activities, provide training on HIV/AIDS, peer education, female health, alternative training to prepare girls and guides in the community to have a better guide to adulthood.
Expected project outcomes: Eradication of youth pregnancies, HIV/AIDS among young women. A forum for girl guiding activities at a district, national and international level.
Many people will benefit from this project. They are as follows; Girl Guides in the district (600) Other girls and young women in the community (4,000) Older former guiders (200)
Community as a whole - over 19,000 people.
Following donations from Girlguiding UK and Canada Girl Guides, this project has been funded in full.
