57th Commission on the Status of Women 2013

Each year, WAGGGS sends a delegation of young women to the United Nations (UN) Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), an annual meeting in which UN members discuss issues around women and gender equality.
This year UN Member States and non-governmental organizations at the 57th CSW will be discussing the ‘elimination and prevention of violence against women and girls.’
Through the Stop the Violence campaign, Girl Guides and Girl scouts have been working on ending violence against girls across the world. 14 young women will be representing WAGGGS and the Stop the Violence campaign at CSW57.
